Dr. Christine Fleischacker has agreed to be the primary guide and coordinator of the school. Dr. Fleischacker earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in biology and a second major in French from the University of Saint Thomas (St. Paul, MN). She went on to do bio-medical research for 12 years at the Veterans Hospital (Minneapolis), the Dana Farber Cancer Institute (Boston), the Navy Medical Research Institute (Bethesda, Maryland), and the National Institutes of Health. During those years she also completed a Master of Science and then a Doctorate degree in Immunology and Microbiology at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. As a teacher, Dr. Fleischacker has taught in the George Washington Medical School, as a kindergarten catechist, as a biology professor at Mount Marty College (Yankton, South Dakota), and for the last nine years as the program chair of the Biology Education program at the University of Mary. She has work extensively through the years with the school of education at the University of Mary, and she is a member of the North Dakota Science Teachers association. Currently she is in training at the Center for Guided Montessori Studies to become a certified adolescent guide.
