We are so excited about being a part of Giving Hearts Day 2024! By being able to have dollar to dollar matching gifts, we are able to ensure that our over 100 year legacy of providing high quality Catholic education in Mandan and surrounding communities continues for the next 100 years and beyond!
Now through January 15th, we are asking to raise matching funds for our 2024 Giving Hearts Campaign. All money raised between now and January 15th will go toward the money we can possible raise through the dollar for dollar donations that will be able to come through on Giving Hearts Day, which is February 8th, 2024
St. Joseph Schools seeks to cultivate a world of discovery, rooted in the benefits of Catholic Tradition, which springs upward to guide students toward God's right order.
The first parochial school was begun in Mandan by Father Martin Schmidt of St. John's, Collegeville, MN. On February 4, 1912 a meeting was held in St. Joseph Hall to discuss the possibilities of a parochial school. The majority of those present favored a new school. When the school first opened in 1913, the school was prepared for 150 students and over 200 arrived on the first day.
The present main building opened in September 1952, housing eight classrooms, cafeteria, and our current gymnasium on second floor. More space was added as the school grew in 1962.
Starting in 2020-2021, the school changed its educational philosophy to Catholic Montessori, and the school instituted the School of The Holy Family, and adding grades 6-12, making it the first Catholic High School in Mandan.
